The position will include, but not be limited to:

Managing the service providers with both a day-to-day as well as strategic focus including complete accountability for jointly agreed service guarantees and key performance indicators such as cost, transit, split etc.

Driving continuous improvement of our customers logistics processes working cross functionally with key individuals in Materials Management, Branch Locations, Sales, and Customer Service to bring a closer and more integrated efficiency to the supply chain to reduce cost, enhance asset utilization and continuously improve service levels.

Working to support Sr. Management, Inbound / outbound Logistics on strategic development projects appropriate to both domestic as well as other international initiatives.

Specific responsibilities include:

	Developing and managing international and domestic transportation processes and develop on-going improvement plans relating to: Freight Management Carrier Selection (sourcing and procurement) and Management
	Assessing current process to identify needs, gaps, and opportunities for improvement
	Designing, developing, testing and implementing future processes and best practices
	Managing the overland inbound / outbound flow of materials
	Assisting Customers and Management in the creation of the annual Logistics budget and associated tasks

	This position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience with international and domestic logistics & Transportation - including LTL, TL, small package, airfreight forwarding, ocean transportation as well as 3rd Party logistics.
	Demonstrated knowledge of supply chain concepts and management. Specific experience in the areas of carrier negotiations and continuous cost reduction.
	Must be able to interpret and understand Government regulations on import/export shipments, including Customs, hazardous materials, rates and tariffs
	Experience with change management and process engineering is a plus
	Must be able to demonstrate a track record of leadership
	Strong quantitative, analytical and critical thinking skills
	Must have strong oral/written communication skills, with ability to interface across functional areas
	Must be detail orientated, well organized and professional
	Required to make independent judgments with little direct supervision
	Must be able to perform analytical studies and report writing when needed
	MS Office expert (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
	Ability to present, convince and execute ideas professionally.
